Georgia boy, 15, 'shot dead his ex-girlfriend, 16, with his father's gun then killed himself because she started dating someone else'

A 15-year-old Georgia teen has allegedly shot dead his 16-year-old ex-girlfriend, according to authorities.
Christopher Andrews is believed to have shot Samyah Copeland after a two year on-again, off-again relationship, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.

On Monday evening, a relative of Andrews found the teens' dead bodies inside a home in Clayton County.

Both Riverdale High School students had been shot, according to Clayton County police sergeant Ashanti Marbury.

'The preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was a murder/suicide.
'It appears that the male subject shot and killed the female before shooting himself,' Marbury told the AJC.

Clayton Police Chief Michael Register told the publication that Andrews used his father’s gun.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Medical Examiner's Office is expected to perform an autopsy on Tuesday evening.

Authorities say they are waiting for the results of the autopsy to officially call it a murder-suicide.
Family members of Copeland described her relationship with Andrews as 'rocky' and said she had just begun dating someone else, according to FOX 5.

Copeland was last seen on Monday during her sixth period class.

Jermaine Carroll, Copeland's father, described her as a 'fashionista' who always had a smile on her face.
He called her the 'star of the family' who loved her brothers and sisters, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Andrews' grandmother said she had no knowledge about the young couple's relationship.
'He was a sweet, kind, loving grandson. He was a good kid, a good student', she told CBS46.com.
Jada Dawkins, a Clayton County Public Schools spokeswoman, told the AJC a crisis team was assisting students at Riverdale High School for those in need.
